WE SUPPORT PARENTS

couvade syndrome (1).png

Sometimes, dads are too supportive during the journey of pregnancy that they also share symptoms. Couvade syndrome, also known as sympathy pains or sympathetic pregnancy, only happens on men. It has a cultural significance that focuses on establishing the bond between father and child. Fathers may experience nausea, toothaches, weight gain, breathing issues, abdominal pain, heartburn, or mood swings, just like mom does.

Couvade syndrome is neither a mental illness or a severe medical condition. The symptoms mostly subside when the baby is born. For those dads suffering from Couvade syndrome, relaxation techniques are helpful. Meditation(yoga, tai chi) and breathing exercises help to control the stress syndromes.

Our clinic not only provides pregnancy support for mom but also provide acupuncture service for dads. Parents take care of the baby; we take care of hardworking parents. Contact us for an appointment (905)721-4917
